The call and Empirica by MID SIDE Aps
The Social Promotion Association MID SIDE Aps aims to promote and encourage contemporary art in all its forms. With this project it intends to support and promote composers and multimedia artists by encouraging both the broadcasting in concert and online dissemination of their works. After the positive feedback of the third edition and in view of the fourth edition of the REF - Resilience Festival to be held in Foggia from December 1 to 20, 2024 , the label Empirica record label in collaboration with the Social Promotion Association MID SIDE Aps, is promoting a new CALL FOR WORKS.
Acousmatic compositions, audiovisual works, compositions for instrument (including with electronics), interactive installations, and articles on music and new technologies will be selected. The call is open to all composers and multimedia artists of all nationality and age. It is possible to participate individually or as a group and may multiple works be submitted by the same artist/group of artists.

[A] ACOUSMATIC

stereophonic or quadraphonic acousmatic compositions

[B] AUDIO/VISUAL

Experimental audiovisual productions (stereophonic or quadraphonic audio)

[C] SOLO INSTRUMENT

compositions for instrument without electronics

[D] SOLO INSTR AND ELECTRONICS

compositions for instrument and electronics. Electronics can be either live or on media (stereophonic or quadraphonic)

[E] MULTIMEDIA PERFORMANCE

Live artistic performance. Techniques such as live electronics, video, light visuals, dance, instruments and electronics can be used

Prizes

CONCERT

All selected works will be performed during the fourth edition of the Resilience Festival, in Foggia, Italy. The festival will take place in December 2024.

Selected works will be released on the album FIXED 2024, distributed by the Empirica label on all digital platforms and on the official MID SIDE TV YouTube channel in the collection FIXED 2024

EMPIRICA PRIZE

MID SIDE PRIZE

The best work among all categories will be selected by the jury of MID SIDE Aps and will be awarded a cash sum of 600 euros. The prize may be divided in case of two winning works.

Deadline and participation fee

The call will end at 11:59 p.m. on September 2, 2024 (UTC+1)

A participation fee of €10 is required for registration in categories [A] and [B], and a fee of €20 is required for categories [C], [D] and [E]. Payment of this amount will be made via Paypal or credit card at the checkout of the respective category's entry form
